This is my cat Baby who came to us just moments out of her mother’s belly.

  1. Tell us more about how you got the cat. Was her mother a “rescue”? How old is she now?

  2. Baby’s mother was a feral cat, probably a very young one. We were showing horses one summer day at the Rose Palace (an arena facility) in Boerne. The Rose Palace has a good size feral cat colony. My husband just happened to see this tiny little scrap of a kitten lying on the sidewalk. He scooped it up and brought it to me. I put her in my bra and we stopped for KMR on the way home. She did very well for a singleton. She has no use for other animals or humans, but she is very attached to Chris & me. Baby is now 9 years old. This photo was taken last month.

    • You must be very pleased that she has survived and shows affection for you and Chris. The photo is lovely!

  4. I asked Chris today if Baby is missing me. He says she’s looking around but is a lot more settled about my absence than Blue, Madison, & Poppy. If I could find a studio apartment that would take 3 dogs and a cat I would move here.

  5. Fran, when I first read 4. I thought you meant Little Girl, the tiny pup, for some reason, until I read 1.2. and 3. about your cat, Baby.

Just look forward to that wonderful reception you’ll receive when you get home. (Oh, and from Chris too. :O))
